All About Service

Arthur Amadi

Before I ask for your vote, I want you to really know me. My story starts with service, I grew up here in Ward 2 and I built organizations here. Now I'm ready to serve Ward 2 at the table where Milton's future is decided.

Authentic Resilient Loving Focused Kind

I'm someone who builds, someone who shows up and someone who serves. That's been true since I was twelve years old.

My Biography

I've been living in Ward 2 for over a decade! I am serving here and i am running here.

Most recently I served as a Youth Advisor at the Canadian Commission for UNESCO — the United Nations agency for education, science and culture. My service started early as Captain of my soccer team. Then as a Walmart Leader at Play running youth recreation programs. While in school, that's where I learned what it means to give back to the community that raised me.

I went to Bishop Reding Catholic Secondary School here in Ward 2 and kept serving while I studied. I coached at Milton Magic, working with kids who reminded me of myself a few years earlier. In 2015, while at Bishop Reding, I launched A1 Visuals, a media company that built exposure for elite Canadian athletes, starting right here in Milton. A1 grew into a media partner for leading athletic organizations across the country.

Then in 2018, I launched Youth in Diaspora, an educational nonprofit that puts underprivileged children into quality classrooms and pays young people to teach them. I didn't ask anyone for permission. I just solved the problem.

"Lasting change requires being in the room where the decisions get made."

That belief has guided everything I've built and it's one of the reasons I'm running. Here's the fuller story.

The Listening Tour

Before Canada Day on July 1, I'm listening.

For four weeks, right up to Canada Day, I'm walking Ward 2: knocking doors, sitting with families and joining conversations already happening across the ward. Then I'll take the ten days before our July 12 launch to turn everything I've heard into the priorities I'll campaign on.

Three issues are coming up at the doors: affordability, safety and amenities. I'm tracking them publicly and the list grows as the tour continues.
