Why I'm Running

Arthur Amadi
Ward 2 Resident & Candidate for Town Council · Milton 2026

Like many of you, when my family chose Milton, we were betting on a town that felt like the best of Canada — diverse, ambitious, and full of possibility. A town with safe neighbourhoods, strong schools, and a welcoming environment. A town where people from all backgrounds can build a life and raise a family.

I went to Bishop Reding for high school, coached at Milton Magic, and served as a Youth Advisor at the United Nations. After living in Ward 2 for over a decade, in the Dempsey neighbourhood, that bet paid off — so I feel a responsibility to help it pay off for every young person, newcomer and family who comes next.

However, as Milton grows, we're all feeling the strain. Rising costs, increased traffic congestion and kids waiting on the parks, programs and recreational facilities they need ASAP. That changes NOW.

I believe local government should be accessible, transparent, and deeply accountable.

You deserve a representative who lives in Ward 2, has a track record of service, delivers results, listens and is present in our neighbourhoods year-round, not just during election season — one who remembers that every policy choice affects real families and people. That person is me and I'm ready to work for you.

My path to public service has been shaped by a lifetime of community service and leadership. Whether working in the technology sector helping organizations navigate innovation, running a values-based small business, or founding an international non-profit that builds educational systems, my focus has always been on delivering tangible results through service.

I'll promise what a councillor can deliver.

A councillor's job is to listen, advocate, vote responsibly, and fight for Ward 2 in every budget — pushing hard within real limits, not performing miracles.

I'll listen, advocate, vote responsibly and fight for Ward 2 in every budget. I'm offering myself for service because I have the ability to solve problems, the capacity to execute, and the competence to deliver. I believe in the John C. Maxwell School of Leadership; that leadership is who you are and what you represent, not a position given to you. I'm here to serve and fight for your voice to be heard.

This is why I am running to be your next Town Councillor.

I’m running to serve all of Ward 2. That includes our youth, seniors, homeowners, longtime residents, newcomers and renters.

As Ward 2 residents, we're tired of waiting for change and fed up with the status quo. I'm here for the next chapter of our ward, where every voice is heard, every neighbourhood has a seat at the table and every group is carried along so no one is left behind.

I'm running to build A Better Milton that works for everyone today, tomorrow and for generations to come.

I want to earn your trust and your vote. Visit votearthur.ca/bio to learn more about me.

Ward 2 won't wait. I am ready. Are you ready?
